The Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission (GMRPTC) partnered with Southwest Regional Development Commission to conduct Campground Use Studies for seven regionally significant parks in southern Minnesota. The studies have now been released.
The Campground Use Studies are part of an ongoing effort of the GMRPTC to make the best decisions based on the best recreational data. As outdoor recreation continues to grow, the importance of having the most current information regarding the recreational desires of users becomes critical. The reports detail information regarding camper recreational experiences, characteristics, demographics, and their economic impact.
As part of the studies, campground user surveys were collected between May-September 2022. An analysis of survey results is included in the studies.
