Bike & Roll to School Day 2025 is on May 7. Register today! Registrations are are rolling in for National Bike & Roll to School Day on May 7, 2025! If you haven’t done so already, please register today to be sure your event is included in the national count. While May 7 is this year’s official Bike & Roll to School Day date, communities are welcome to celebrate any day in May that best fits their schedules. Looking for event inspiration? Join the webinar on Monday, April 7, 10:30-11:30am to learn more. https://events.gcc.teams.microsoft.com/event/8c7bcd14-7309-4d06-96c3-dee087fb50f7@eb14b046-24c4-4519-8f26-b89c2159828c The Solar on Public Buildings Grant Program will equip cities, townships, counties, and other local governments and Tribal Nations to lower utilities costs, increase energy independence, expand our clean energy workforce, and take essential action to address climate change. The Department of Commerce will administer $4.3M in grants to local governments in Xcel Energy electric service territory. Eligible applicants for this grant program are local units of government including a county, statutory or home rule charter city, town, or other local government jurisdiction, excluding school districts eligible to receive financial assistance under section 216C.375; or a federally recognized Indian Tribe in Minnesota. (Minn. Stat. § 216C.377, subd. 1). Grants will be awarded for up to 70% of the project costs (dependent on the government’s financial capacity) for a solar array that is built on or adjacent to a public building and is the lesser of 40kW system capacity or 120% of the building’s annual energy consumption.Read moreRead less
